Dr. Catherine Herlihy grew up in Wilmington, Delaware, She received her Bachelor's degree in Biology from American University in Washington, D.C., where she was also a part of the women's soccer team. Dr. Herlihy worked as a technician for a short while before attending veterinary school at the Atlantic Veterinary College on Prince Edward Island in Canada. After veterinary school, she completed a one year rotating internship at Dogwood Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center in Richmond, Virgina.
After her internship, Dr. Herlihy relocated to western New York where she spent some time in general practice and high-volume spay and neuter clinics, before practicing emergency medicine full-time for six years, and now making the move to Stoney Pointe Animal Health Centre.
Dr. Herlihy's professional interests include urgent care, shelter medicine, and alternative therapies, such as acupuncture, in which she received certification through the Chi Institute in 2016.
Outside of work, Dr. Herlihy is an avid runner, biker, hiker, and traveller (both recreationally and on international veterinary aid trips!). She shares a farmette with her husband, two dogs, three cats, four goats, and seven cows.
